    Aminia’s journey began in 1929 on Zakaria Street in Kolkata, founded by Abdul Rahim and later carried forward by his son, Mohammed Amin. What started as a humble eatery serving the legendary Kolkata-style biryani soon evolved into one of the city’s most iconic culinary institutions. Today, Aminia proudly spans across India and has brought its rich legacy to Dubai, UAE — with the original Aminia experience exclusively available in Dubai Production City.

    For nearly a century, Aminia has remained deeply rooted in tradition, preserving the authenticity of Mughlai and Bengali cuisine. Our signature Kolkata biryani continues to be prepared using a closely guarded blend of spices, premium long-grain basmati rice, and the time-honoured ‘dum’ cooking technique. This slow-cooking process allows each layer to infuse perfectly, creating the rich aroma, delicate flavour, and unmistakable taste that defines authentic Indian biryani in Dubai.

    Aminia Dubai – A Dream Fulfilled, A Legacy Continued

    On the historic date of 15th August 2024, a day that marks India's independence and holds deep significance for Aminia, the beloved restaurant opened its doors to Dubai – its first international branch. This was not just an expansion, but the realization of a dream rooted in love, legacy, and longing.

    For Aminia, 15th August is more than a date; it's a symbol of growth and milestones. It was on this very day in 1946 that Aminia's second branch opened in New Market, Kolkata. Nearly eight decades later, the journey comes full circle – from the heart of Kolkata to the soul of Dubai.

    The decision to bring Aminia to Dubai was inspired by the vision of the late Nadim Amin, a third-generation torchbearer of the Aminia heritage. After visiting his daughter Insha, who had moved to Dubai in 2019, Nadim was captivated by the city's vibrant culture, diversity, and warmth – a perfect blend of tradition and modernity. It was here that he envisioned his grandfather Molvi Abdul Karim's legacy taking its next bold step.

    Though Nadim tragically passed away in 2020 during the global pandemic, his dream did not die with him. It lived on through his children – Asil, Amaad, and Insha – who came together with unwavering dedication to bring Aminia to the international stage.

    With Asil's operational insight, Amaad's culinary excellence, and Insha's intimate understanding of Dubai's unique pulse, they transformed vision into reality. Aminia Dubai is more than a restaurant – it is a heartfelt tribute to a father, a celebration of family, and a bridge connecting generations, cultures, and countries.
